5 out of 5 stars A Good Start   November 19, 2009
Concerned Individual (Elmwood Pk, NJ United States)
This book would be a good start for anyone just beginning to enter the world of firearms. Good reviews of guns and why the author would choose one over the others. What I really like is that he insists getting training again and again. Which makes sense, since skills can and do deteriorate over time. Good sensible advices.

5 out of 5 stars Gun Owners Need this book!   November 12, 2009
Linda Sue (Escalon, CA)
This book is truly a "bible" of information on guns, ownership--a surprise! I bought this for my son (age 21) and he thought since his mom bought it, it wouldn't be any good. Now he can't put it down. It's full of all kinds of information you won't find elsewhere. "Try it, you'll like it!"

5 out of 5 stars Mr. Party's Bible - Few Books are More Needed or Valuable   November 3, 2009
C. Corp (CA)
If I had to choose only one book on the subject of Guns AND their relationship with Liberty it would be this book. It delivers more insight with every read and takes on more depth as the readers' experience grows. It also speaks equally well to both the novice and the expert.

In other words, it is truly a "Bible" on the subject.

While no beginner to self-defense or liberty my premises and beliefs in the physical aspects of these areas were disassembled, investigated and re-assembled into a higher state by reading (And acting on) the authors' advice.

Have you ever read an entertaining non-fiction reference book? (Yes, such a creature exists!). This one is written by a guy with a knack for putting things simply. The author gets right to the point and covers a lot of ground. Take its 848-page size as an indication of its value on such diverse subjects as:

* Safety & Handling
* Self-defense & The Law
* Tactics & Training
* Women & Guns
* Combat Rifle History
* Rating the Combat Rifles
* Handguns
* Shotguns
* Bolt-Action, .50BMG and Other Rifles
* Gear
* Shopping Guide
* Federal "Gun Controls"
* Gun Laws in the 50 States & D.C.
* Preparing for the Worst
* Wealth vs. Liberty
* Patriot Light!

It's rare to find a person with such depth of understanding and expertise on a subject who can also write simply and well about it. When you do find such a person they are a rare treasure.

Oh, and be careful: You might find yourself giggling and writing little 'to-do' lists in the margins while your wife is trying to sleep. This book is so inspirational that it's my wife that may be giggling and waking me up, some day soon!

2 out of 5 stars Ummm this is not really a technical book   November 2, 2009

If you are looking for a technical book to improve your marksmanship, this isn't really it. It's much, much more dealing with Gun Politics. Not what was I was looking for.

5 out of 5 stars Absolute!   November 1, 2009
jeffrey olson (SoCal)
Should be mandatory reading for all hands! Some are preppers, most arent...that said, we preppers usually have to defend against THE VAST MAJORITY of folks who realize their heads were in the sand....If everybody, staring in highschool, were to be properly educated....problem solved? i believe so. But instead we deal with the inperfections of humanity. BUY IT, READ IT AND GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!!

This book is A MUST READ, ignore it at your own peril...

Mi1itant out...
