False advertizing November 6, 2009 Bill Kelley (Austin, TX USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This may or may not be a good welding helmet, but it is
NOT
a 6 by 6 viewing area. You can even see this from the picture.
The only viewing area is the smaller rectangle you can barely see
because the picture is mostly reflection.
It may even be a "large" viewing area as lots of welding
helmets have less than 2" high viewing area.
Most of the 6 by 6 area is solar cells and plastic.
It does not get clear, only the smaller area, maybe
2.5" ish by 3.5" ish turns clear.
BTW Amazon is not the only site mis-advertising this product.
If you see ANY site advertising a 6x6 viewing area on any welding helmet,
that is almost surely false. All auto dark welding helmets
need area for solar cells and electronics that do the auto dark function.
Maybe they will be the first to actually truthfully advertise it?
Amazon?
good cheap welding helmet September 6, 2009 Craig Szwed (Connecticut USA) for the relative cost of this item I have found the following: good dealer, good product, good response time of auto-darkening.
good welding helmet.. August 20, 2009 Michael B. Garcia 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

Great shield for the money!! July 6, 2009 Willie S. Tyndall Jr. (North Carolina) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this as I needed a welding shield for the MiG welded by brother gave me to use. As I only do occasional welding, I was looking for a low cost shield that had the auto-darkening lens. In practice this shield does the job quite nicely. I could see the weld puddle and was able to control what I was doing with minimal issues. The only negatives are the lightweight construction of the helmet (I expected that) and the tensioning feature of the helmet to keep it up while not in use. Like I said for the occassional welder this is a definite "best buy". Highly recommend with the foreknowledge the helmet is lightweight in designd and durability.
I love this helmet June 16, 2009 Matthew Parker 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am a novice welder and used the flip down helmet for the first 2 weeks of learning to weld. I decided to bite the bullet and buy an auto darkening helmet. I was surprised to find that they had gone drastically down in price since they first came out. I can not compare this to other auto darkening helmets as I have never used any other but I don't see how they could be that much better. The size adjustment locks in place good. It darkens when I strike a weld. What more could you ask for? To anyone that still uses the old flip down mask I would highly recommend switching. It is like night and day and my learning curve was a lot easier with this helmet.
