| Customer Reviews: Meets expectations BUT November 6, 2009 CADguy (Buffalo, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Product works as needed BUT. I have been working with CAD systems since 1985. I have extensively used products including ICEM, Autocad, Pro-engineer & UG. This is what I was paid to do. I am now retired. I wanted something to do some basic layouts, maybe some 3d stuff. The largest drawback to this product, in my estimation, is the documentation. There is PDF doc that explains in detail what commands do works but except for a measly "getting started" manual no procedural stuff even basic tutorials. This is about the first piece of software that I have used that the price for real tutorials is more expensive than the software itself. I am now on a fixed income and so I will have to wait to "maybe" pick up the 2d/3d tutorial package. At this point I am probably not even going to do that.
The biggest selling point is morality. October 4, 2009 John H. Wiegman (Montana, USA) 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have used TurboCAD for years. This program is easy to learn and each new version always offers more features than I require (but enjoy having).
I am miffed by Autodesk's thug-like marketing of AutoCAD. I remember one year that you could pick up a quick $5,000 for turning in a friend who was using an illegal copy. Don't know what the figure is now and don't want to hear about it ever again. I don't want to hear that Autodesk has turned over a new leaf and gone straight.
With TurboCAD I can do all of my work without feeling that I am caving in to the Mob. I can output drawings that anybody can use. I can do all of these things for a pittance.
I appreciate TurboCAD very much and I support TurboCAD because it fits my moral values as well as my budget and drafting needs. Do your work without guilt. The Mob will have to find victims elsewhere.
