The book is great for a beginner. It easy to follow and it has a lot of examples to guide you to use AutoCAD fast. It's recommended for all beginners!
 Another Autocad book for the trash bucket October 7, 2009

Essentially a regurgitation of the Autocad Help menus, the books is confusing, disorganized and offers few usable examples of how to make things work in a real designer's world. Its just another fat Autocad book. Don't people get tired of generating this junk?
 Beginner learning autoCAD and pleased so far September 28, 2009

I am a beginner to autoCAD and have currently made it to the fourth chapter. I find this book to be very thorough and covers things in good detail. There is a quick start chapter in the beginning that had me a little lost not knowing what the terminology was, but I made it through and found it was all described just afterwards in the beginning chapters. The only thing I would like to see added to this book would be more excersizes for practice. There are areas that instruct you how to work through a new technique, but I would appreciate a companion workbook for more excersizes to work on my own. Overall, great book to learn autoCAD.
