| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description CHEVRON was a brand used by Standard Oil of California (Socal), one of the companies that resulted from the break-up of the Standard Oil Trust in 1911. Social introduced the red/white/blue Chevron trademark in 1931. Signage used the Chevron stripes and the Standard name. In the 1940s Socal adopted the Chevron name as a fuel brand. At one point, Standard stations were company owned and Chevron stations were owned by independent dealers. During the war, the V in Chevron grew victory wings, and kept them into the 1960s. Standard officially changed its name to Chevron in 1984, but kept a Standard station in every state where they had rights to the name so no one else could claim the Standard name in those states. Vintage Sign Features: - 18 gauge steel - Size: 23.5" x 29.125" - 1/8" mounting hole - Durable finish
