| Editorial Reviews:
Book Description The Rock That Burns is a political novel designed to inform readers of unknown or ignored facts regarding the potential of U.S. oil shale resources to eliminate dependence on oil imports. The negative impacts of no-growth environmentalists, the Bureau of Land Management, and the giant oil company consortiums on development of these resources is depicted through fictional characters. The Rock That Burns is the story of an economics professor, a journalist, a preacher, and an Air Force pilot who oppose U.S. energy policy for different reasons and are caught in a web of international intrigue. The thesis of this novel is based on actual events. Although the story line is fictional, many of the events portrayed actually happened. All of the facts relating to oil shale resources in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming and oil shale extraction technology are accurate. The entire story depicts the struggle against economic globalism. Now more that ever, our dependence on Middle Eastern oil will endanger our economy, our way of life, and the lives American citizens. There is a way to end this dependency, but as our characters can attest, the roadblocks are not technical; they are political and at times life threatening.
