Editorial Reviews:
Product Description A Complementary reference to the ASME Steam Tables software published in 1999, this volume is also based on the IAPWS Industrial Formulation 1997 for the Thermodynamic Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS-IF97). International standards for water and steam properties are set by the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS). This book, like the previous Steam Tables which date back to 1967, was produced by the efforts of the Properties of Steam Subcommittee of the ASME Research and Technology Committee on Water and Steam in Thermal Systems. It contains chapters on Units and Conversions, Thermodynamic Properties, Transport Properties, and other Properties and Formulations, as well as Appendices on Thermodynamic Property Formulation and Transport Property Formulations. This book also contains 50 tables and charts for quick and easy reference.

Customer Reviews:
Stop Referring to Older Tables June 29, 2006 Ash As always ASME leads by providing the world with the latest available data for steam. This book contains steam properties based on the latest available data i.e Industrial Formulation 97. Some of the industry still continues to use older standards that may lead to incorrect designs and specifications. This book should be an essential acquisition by any industry dealing with steam equipment as well as steam driven thermal power plants. However, engineers in the field as well as mechanical engineering students are likely to find the present tables far too detailed for ready reference. They should then go for the compact and cheaper 'Engineering Steam Tables' by Ashok Malhotra also based on IF-97 and also available at Amazon.co.uk
