Product Description
This is it! We spent over a year revising, updating and consolidating our Upper and Lower Assembly volumes into one, great book. Don't be mislead by myths and misconceptions. You'll find out what really makes horsepower in a racing engine. It contains the best information and latest technology from Reher-Morrison Racing Engines' expert staff of head porters, machinists and engine assemblers. The book has 392 information-packed pages and contains over 600 detailed photos and graphics that show you the right way to build an engine. We're convinced this is the best "how-to" racing engine book ever written. In fact, it has been chosen as the text by several technical colleges for their Racing and Motorsports Technology programs.

5 out of 5 stars "Racing Engine Book" review   October 2, 2009

The book is so full of knowledge that you can't do without it. I read the whole book in just hours because I could not put it down. If you are building an all out competition engine, as I am doing now, this book is a must. Don't hesitate to purchase it, you won't regret it!!

I gave this to my brother-in-law as a gift. He LOVES it! Here's and excerpt from his e-mail:
"Thanks!! I was skeptical that any book would be much value to me since I've been racing and building engines so long. I was wrong. As much as I thought I knew there was so much more, and I learned many valuable things. This book is full of detailed drawings and photos and it is written with such clarity that I think anybody can follow it. You know I have some engineering background and it holds up to that scrutiny as well; it's not just the empirical findings of an experienced racer. I call this book my "engine bible" now and won't even lend it out even to friends!"

Reher-Morrison Racing Engines Championship Engine Assembly

Not what i expected.
Had i known what was in it, i would not have bought it.
I though it would have many speed secrets / tips and tricks for building a high performance engine.
But it is more a "how to rebuild your engine" (how to calculate compression ratio, how to dial in a cam) with some added info here and there.

I guess it is a good book for the novice for learning a bit about "performance" engines, but there are cheaper ones available that do that

I'm a beginner engine builder. I usually take the high end builds to the proper engine shop. I wanted to get a better insight as to how and why engines make more power with the reliability of the big boys.
If you don't have time for the hands on classes, this is the next best thing. Packed with secrets and seemingly common sense techniques. RM tells you how and why to do it right. Great product.
