5 out of 5 stars Excellent Manual   October 11, 2009

I was very pleased with this manual. I was especially pleased with the colored wiring schematics. They made it easy to trace down the electrical trouble that I was having. I would recommend this manual to any one.

3 out of 5 stars This service manual is ok...   October 5, 2009
Douglas Ingram (Knoxville, TN, USA)
This service manual gets the job done, but I find it poorly written and a bit lacking. I purchased it for servicing a Ninja 250. The photos are often confusing and dark, and the absents of good illustration is apparent. And it's really odd to group two very different bikes (Ninja 250 and Vulcan 500) into one manual. A service procedure will often start, "for the Vulcan 500... for the EX250...).

Still, it can get the job done. I have successfully completed normal maintenance with the info in this manual, from chain tightening, oil changes, removal of wheels, replacement of cam chain tensioner, ...

Unfortunately, I got a look at the Ninja 250 factory service manual at the dealer one day and it is beautiful. Nice illustrations, photos, and well laid out. Try for one of these if you can find it.

Good luck with your bike!

4 out of 5 stars Must HAve for DIY Projects   September 1, 2009

I purchased this book for my husband who was having a problem with his motorcycle. Thanks to the photo illustrations and easy to understand directions, he was able to fix the problem himself and save us a lot of money. Whether you are a beginner (as my hubby is) or a great mechanical mind, this book is an invaluable resource.

5 out of 5 stars Good manual   June 4, 2009
D. Oldfield (Ahwahnee, CA USA)
This is a very adequate manual. I don't have anything except the owner's manual to compare it to, so I can't say it's the best on the market or whatever. People say Haynes makes the best manuals, so I'll believe that. I just wish the pics were in color.

2 out of 5 stars Not as good as the online FAQs for the average person   May 13, 2009

I just got this book, and while it may be comprehensive, I don't find it all that useful for the more common problems to be fixed. In fact, the online FAQs about Ninja 250s are a lot more useful. I'm sure if you need to a pull a piston this is great, but all routine adjustments and carb rebuilding are better explained by on-line resources.
