The one and only May 7, 2009 Roland Mueller (Switzerland) Das beste Restaurationsbuch, das ich kenne. Leider sind die Bilder nicht von bester Qualität und einige Dinge sind nicht korrekt, aber wo findet man mehr Informationen über alte Harleys?
Excellent book well worth buying. October 22, 2008 Laurance A. Cronin This is an invaluable book for anyone accurately restoring or converting an older model Harley. The author certainly knows his facts as he covers several earlier Harley models in the one 640 page book. In my case, I was keen to convert my 42WLA Harley to a 1940's civilian model as there are numerous restored WLA Harleys here in Australia. The book has helped me to keep the conversion as close to the pre and post war WL solo Harley as possible. For one example, the handle bars I earlier had chromed in error, are now to be painted to compy with the period of the bike. A top book well worth the money. Good work Bruce Palmer 111.

restore an old harley October 22, 2007 Mark Edwards This book is has very detailed information and is extremely comprehensive. There are many clear photos and diagrams. If you are thinking about restoring an old harley you should really get hold of this book before you get too far into it.
Great info! October 10, 2007 Panhead Mike (N W Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book has been around for a while, now. The pictures aren't the best, but Mr. Hatfield has done his homework on this one. Like he says, the book isn't perfect, but if you want to restore a H-D, up to 1964, you must have this book. It also has info that is relevant to later models. The one thing I missed, though is more # identification on parts Harley had made for them. I mean oem info, from Bendix, etc.
