| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Roaring into mainstream consciousness with their rakish style and V-twin power, choppers have captured the publics fascination. Now, best-selling Motorbooks author and award-winning car designer Thom Taylor shows enthusiasts of all artistic levels how to draw these rolling heavy-metal sculptures, whether for fun or as concepts for their own dream bikes. After a brief history of the chopper, Thom covers the selection of tools and equipment before explaining fundamentals like perspective, proportion, reflections, and shadows. With the building blocks for a successful chopper drawing in place, Thom goes on to selecting a color palette, finding your own technique, and adding people to your drawings. Also included are chapters on cartooning and the role computers can play in your art. In addition to Taylors own work, How to Draw Choppers Like a Pro features art from several other well-known motorcycle artistsincluding Ed Newton, Dave Deal, Tom Fritz, and Keith Weesnernot to mention a foreword by the godfather of modern choppers, Arlen Ness.

| Customer Reviews: A little too cartoony for my tastes. November 17, 2009 Mr. (Berkeley, CA United States) I suppose this book is good for someone who is new to drawing. Most of the pictures are a little on the cartoony side. It explains basic drawing concepts like perspective, proportions, line width, etc. which is good for the beginner.
I'm a seasoned artist and I guess I was hoping for a book with more diagrams and better explanation of the various parts of a chopper for more technical-oriented book. I bought this book on Amazon because it was cheap even though I've never seen the book before. I guess that's my fault.
bike drawing for any level of artist November 3, 2006 Robert K. Campbell (Hollister, CA, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is perfect for an entry level artist as well as someone who has been drawing for some time. I've been sketching choppers for a long time, more seriously in the last few years, and I'm thrilled to see how much this has to offer me in the way of disciplining my process.
It also covers the basics such as perspective, bike construction, and other aspects that are of value to anyone interested in drawing bikes. This is true for the fine artist/painter, the cartoonist, or the enthusiast who wants to develop a hobby in drawing bikes.
