3 out of 5 stars Why does the author keep defining common words?   October 29, 2009

This book is helpful itself, but there is one thing I just don't understand, why is this author keeping defining very common words like 'force', 'design', 'standard', 'device', 'value', etc....does he have an unfulfilled dream of becoming a lexicologist?

5 out of 5 stars Resist Survival Responses   July 19, 2009

Most of us know how to ride! Few of us know why things go wrong and what we are doing to work against the bike.
Take the fear out of your riding and put a grin on your face by understanding the proper techniques of good cornering.
A must have book for anyone riding over 30mph.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome info!   May 24, 2009

I highly recommend reading Twist of the Wrist for any rider. It will help new riders understand the physics of how the bike works in turn dismissing some of the common fears associated with riding. It will also help more experienced riders become better in corners, thereby improving time and safety. I also recommend supplementing the read with watching videos on cornering techniques as it helps cement the ideas.

The first book in the series, while still stuffed full of Scientology BS, is still a worthwhile read.

But Twist 2 merely re-hashes the same material with even more silly bullet points and definitions of common terms that your average pre-school child knows. If you like being talked down to as if you had a 3rd-grade reading level you might like the simplistic writing style that reminds one of a really bad Powerpoint presentation aimed at training new employees about the company's sexual harassment policies.

While the book does delve slightly deeper than the first installment, it isn't worth sitting through the Powerpoint presentation to get to it. I personally own this book as well as the laughable VHS video rendition of the series which is even worse than Twist2. I've always wondered why the motorcycle community has never done a Rocky Horror Picture Show treatment to it as it is truly that aweful (but not in such a purposely funny way). Perhaps, other than not being particularly visually funny, that is mostly because it lacks the cross-dressing and swinging. [...]

4 out of 5 stars A Twist of the Wrist 2   January 25, 2009

If you put A Twist of the Wrist 2 along side Reg Pridmore's Smooth Riding you would have the makings of a graduate course in motorcycle roadracing. Very detailed, insightful, well thought out and obviously the product of decades of actual roadracing experience. Every time I re-read it I pick up something new or am reminded of something I forgot.
