Product Description A fascinating expose of the culture of the caf, racer - a motorcycle culture which emerged from WWII in the UK and the USA. Today, it's in the midst of a huge restrspective.

The book was well written. I happen to like Mike's writing style so therefore enjoyed this book. Great period photos and good ideas for modern Cafes. Clearly a good text for someone who wishes to learn about these great machines and the people that have an affinity for them.
cafe Racing alive and well November 6, 2008 Armand (New York) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Mike Seate's book is a fantastic accounting of the current condition in cafe racer circles. It is alive and well; albeit well represented by overweight enthusiasts who can now afford to indulge in the machines they dreamt of as teenagers. Mike also chronicles the history of the Rocker scene in London; the foundation for rider groups of the light, fast British motorcycles of the 50s and 60s. Many contemporary cafe style bikes are shown in quality photographs, and clubs, like the Brit Iron Rebels are featured within the pages. This book will be an eye-opener for the new rider who has a narrow "American V Twin-only" experience in motorcycling.
